Two guqin players finding their lingua franca in shared low frequencies and patient silence. Most of this emerged from rehearsal improvisations—Li Daiguo and Wu Na working with borrowed instruments and unforced accompaniment, keeping the room tone intact. The structural pieces sit somewhere between contemporary classical composition and free listening, which is to say they breathe more than they resolve. For those who want guqin music that doesn’t perform virtuosity.
