Having explored internet esoterica in their atmodisk series of mixtapes and a breaks-focused approach in SEEKR, 5thwrld’s newest creation carves beneath the ground set by its previous releases and creates an ocean underneath, a sparkly ambience setting the stage within each track of PURE TRACES. While the mastering gives it that signature touch as always, it almost seems that much more at home within this release, naturally bringing synth tones up and down like lazy waves.
The mood starts smooth and slow, building up towards the end in a way that engages you, before releasing as the final track comes into play and the mixtape ends. 5thwrld’s releases always hit that sweet spot in their runtimes which allows them to be smoothly replayable and serve best as a full experience, and this one is no different.
