A career spanning collection of Nicholas Langley’s reinterpretations of music by various friends and Third Kind label mates. As well as acting as a producer, the tracks here often involve Langley acting as a composer, arranger and miscellaneous session musician, regularly adding violins, melodica, recorders, percussion, backing vocals and beat programming to the original source material.

This 74min collection includes 14 tracks recorded during the last 28 years, which cover a broad range of approaches to remixes, from embellished yet still recognisable mixes to completely new or reimagined musical paths.

For example, ‘Systemize’ consists of 30 violin parts imitating, and piled over, the original Wrong Signals track until the original material can’t be heard. Two of the ‘Suddenly’ mixes were recorded live by manipulating a number of CD-Rs, reverb and feedback using CDJ decks and a mixer. The ‘Suddenly’ (Hz Beat Mix) was painstakingly programmed on a PlayStation 1 using the Music 2000 software, whilst ‘Radios’ and the more recent South African/Xitsonga-inspired ’Seamagnet’ were entirely programmed on a Yamaha SY85 and Zoom Sampletrak.
