Die netten Leute von We me stuff good laden ebenfalls am nicht mehr all zu fernen Sonnabend auf ein neues zum Ausstellungsbesuch, diesmal allerdings nicht in die vertrauten Umkleidekabinen das Stattbades, sondern in den Tape Modern Club.
Dort kredenzt Dean Rosenzweig aka SWaG, seineszeichens Künstler und Gitarrist von IAMX sein Schaffen in Form exquisitester Malerei. Ich prophezeie, dass du dir dies selbstverständlich nicht entgehen lassen wirst.

This Saturday the 27th of March WMSG are taking the show on the road, even if it is just around the corner . Tape Modern Club has given us the opportunity to showcase one of our most beloved artists, Dean Rosenzweig. Dean (aka, SWag) has made a name for himself as lead guitarist in the band IAMX. But if you thought that was impressive, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
We were first attracted to SWag, two months ago after meeting via email and viewing his website. Shortly after he was invited to exhibit with us in Winter Warriors at the WMSG Gallery. One work in particular was much larger than the rest and gained great popularity within the public. After the Vernissage, SWag informed me that this was the smallest piece in a collection of large works I was more than curious to see the rest. And now thanks to Tape Modern’s huge space, we finally have the opportunity to see them. I personally couldn’t be more excited.

Ein mobiles Kino hat heute ja quasi schon jeder in der Hosentasche, im Ghana der Achtziger Jahre brauchte man aber auch nicht viel mehr, nämlich nur einen Videorekorder, Fernseher und einen Generator. Damit ausgerüstet wurden dann ausländische Blockbuster von Dorf zu Dorf gekarrt.
Um dem Publikum schon vorab eine Vorstellung zu geben, was sie demnächst im Kino zu erwarten hatten, malten Einheimische auf alte Mehlsäcke Filmplakate. Malerisch war da Fantasie gefragt, denn die Künstler hatten den Film natürlich meist selbst noch nicht gesehen und kannten neben dem Titel im besten Fall nur die ungefähre Handlung.
Besser als die Originale sind sie aber allemal.
