Szymon Pimpon Gąsiorek – a Polish drummer and composer. Pointless Geometry is proud to release Pimpon’s debut album “Pozdrawiam” (ENG: Greetings). Sonically innovative, rich in genre, this material combines heavy percussive rhythms with electronic sequences, abstract synthesizer passages, noise, field recordings, static textures, as well as a pop sensibility channeled through autotune vocals. The album sits comfortably between pop aesthetics,
trancelike quality, and experimentation. Szymon studied at the Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium in Copenhague. He leads bands such as the post- jazz outfit Pimpono Ensemble, or E/I, engaged in minimalist music. Szymon is also artistically immersed in the free improv scene, as he performs with musicians including Thurston Moore, Mikołaj Trzaska, Jacob Anderskov, and many others. He’s also a member of several experimental duets, including Alfons Slik (with Grzegorz Tarwid) or Czajka & Puchacz (with Kaja Draksler), as well as the Love And Beauty Seekers trio, and the Franciszek Pospieszalski sextet. The cover design for the album has been created by Michał Ratajczak, a Polish visual artist based in Rotterdam.
